WINTER IS COMING!

I know parts of the country are still sweltering, but the first snow in the U.S. fell over Labor Day in Utah. You might want to take a break from fantasy football and get started with your Winter prep. I just ordered a backup generator, made an appointment for my snow tires to be installed, and stocked up on hot chocolate – yummmmmm!

How to Manage Truck Maintenance and Repair Costs
Saving money in your maintenance operations starts with knowing where that money is going in the first place. While supply chain issues have eased, most fleets are still operating vehicles beyond their normal life expectancies. Even if you have been able to return to normal trade cycles, maintenance and repair of those assets still represent a significant portion of your operating expenses.

Staff Spotlight: Dan Meissner
Executive Underwriter Dan Meissner, a 25-year insurance industry veteran, is celebrating three years on the Mover’s Choice team. Dan finds serving as a reference for customers and co-workers one of the most rewarding aspects of his role, although binding quotes is #1! He credits “easy-to-work-with” colleagues and management with making his job easier – thanks, Dan!
Artificial Intelligence is on Dan’s radar as one of the biggest influences on how insurance will be provided in the future. Born and raised in the St. Louis area, he is the youngest of five siblings and the first to earn a college degree. He’s especially proud of his daughter, who graduated Summa Cum Laude (math and economics) from Seton Hall University. Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, and CPCU and AU designations.
Fun fact: Dan has rubbed elbows with two people who became POTUS – Jimmy Carter and George H. W. Bush – and another who ran for President – Bob Dole. If he could have one superpower, it would be avoiding stupid mistakes, of course! Dan’s favorite saying is, “When your outgo exceeds your income, your upkeep will be your downfall.” Wise words, indeed!

Does Your Coverage Include Protection Against Rising Truck Rental Costs?
The cost of truck repair is on the rise and leasing/rental companies are flagging minor damages that used to be ignored. Insurers are seeing more claims for normal wear and tear damages and becoming more stringent about what they are trying to get recovery for.
If you have multiple claims, your insurance policy can be in jeopardy of rate and deductible increases, coverage elimination for rental vehicles, or even non-renewal for adverse losses. Read more in our latest blog.
