Prep Now for the Start
of Peak Moving Season

Peak moving season starts next month! Are you ready? I’m first “out of the box” with prep work: I’m hittin’ the gym, ordering lifting straps and taking inventory of my packing supplies! Us boxes need to be in top form too, ya’ know!

Sharing my top 4 Prep Tips:

  1. Be techy: Offer your customers the latest in moving technology: an online moving quote calculator, virtual in-home estimates or a moving estimate app.
  2. Be fit: Now is the time to give your employees a physical. Make sure they are in top shape to minimize injuries and lost work.
  3. Be ready: Double-check trucks, equipment, packing supplies & protective gear. Order more supplies and perform maintenance if needed. Calculate the volume of jobs your company can handle and make sure you have adequate numbers of moving crews, trucks and supplies. No one wants to turn away business!
  1. Be growth-centric: Consider adding storage to your services. With storage units, you can avoid logistical issues and make additional time to take on more jobs.

I am stoked for this year’s moving season! I am goin’ on the road, so look for my road trip stories starting in June.

Back Injury Prevention

Back injuries in the Moving and Storage industry can be quite prevalent when the proper techniques and precautions are not taken. In order to prevent costly and debilitating back injuries it is important that anyone who may lift in their jobs is aware of back injury prevention programs. Learning proper lifting techniques and precautions can help prevent a lifetime of back issues and a potential workers’ comp claim.
